Our topic for this week was characters. For this book there are two main ones, which are Courtney and Jordan. There are only about two others, which are their parents and friends. These characters are interesting and fun to read about because they are all different people and have different likes and dislikes. We discussed the characters we disliked, which only happened to be about one of them, Jocelyn. She plays the role as courtney's best friend. We found her very annoying and all up in everyone's business, and nosy. Hopefully her role turns out to be better and she can give some good advice to Courtney in her time of need.

During our meeting, we discussed how Courtney and Jordan met and what we think will happen next. We answered Gabby's open ended questions and talked about whether we would still go on a road trip with your ex-boyfriend and if we thought it would be awkward. We also talked about what we think Jordan is hiding because he claims he dumped Courtney for some girl on the internet but in the book we find out that Courtney's dad knows the real reason they broke up.

I think that this book is a easy read. The story line is perfect for our age group because its stuff that we understand. The author used very modern words, and you can tell that when the age is perfect when the characters make a joke and you actually understand it.

No, because we are at the end of the book and they still aren't together?

I think it's going to be awkward and she will realize she doesn't like him as much as she likes Jordan.

I would tell her to find me a single male as well.

If I was in their place, I would act a little awkward since their relationship ended badly.

While eating popems, our group discussed mostly that week's topic, and how correct we were in predicting the reason as to why the two broke up. The language is easy to understand and it written as if a teenager is talking, which is easy for us to relate to. We ended our meeting by Alyssa asking us her five questions.

The emotion of this book is determined by the point of view of which the character your reading from. If you we reading the book from Jordan's side, you notice that he's more care free yet wants to be with Courtney. He hides his emotions towards her because he knows the real reason he broke up with her. If you were reading it from Courtney's point of view you see that her emotions towards Jordan are more apparent. She can't hide her emotions since the breakup is killing her inside. Our group can't decide on an emotion since it switches from past to present and the past is happy and the present is more depressed.

Today we discussed the mood through out the book. At first, we had trouble deciding what we thought it was. At first no one could agree but after a little while we came to the conclusion that the various moods though out the book. When we go back in time ine the book before the trip we said it was happier and later it was more melancholy. Sadly, we had no food. Hopefully, we will have more food next week.

How do you think she took break-ups in her past relationships looking at this one? - This was Courtney’s first real relationship with a guy, who she happened to really like. In the Book it sounded like she really only had things with people and it was never really a solid relationship. It depends on how much she liked the guy though and how bad the break-up was. 2. Do you think Courtney’s father actually has anything against Jordan? Or his he only holding a hate for him due to the affair? - its only a hate for him due to the affair between him and Jordan’s mom. 3. In the Before Part of the book, do you think Courtney was jealous of Jocelyn and BJ’s relationship? - We disagree because Jocelyn and BJ’s relationship is more physical rather than emotional and open like Courtney and Jordan, which is how Courtney wanted it to be. 4. Although Courtney likes Lloyd a little bit, do you think her feelings for Jordan that she still has are causing her to lead Lloyd on? - When she looks at Jordan, she sees that she still likes him but the feeling isn’t mutual. So she feels that if she’s with Lloyd it’ll be easier because he likes her. So in a way, yes she is leading Lloyd on. 5. What do you predict the outcome of this trip will bring? - We think that Courtney and Jordan will get back together.

This was our last week in our discussion groups. We have finished the whole book and each have our own opinions on it. Some of us didn't like it while others thought it was cute in a way.
